Этот фильм – один из самых показательных примеров. «Закон Монтгомери» достоин фигурировать в истории вестерна как карикатурная и необычная попытка до установления «закона и порядка» внести какую-то организованность в хаос и убожество сексуальных нравов Дикого Запада. С точки зрения формы стоит отметить, что в 1956 г. цвет пока еще был относительно новым и заманчивым явлением, и операторы пытались добиться от него максимальной силы и эффективности. Так, 1-е планы фильма, где мы видим только низ красного платья героини, которая идет по улице перед тем, как столкнуться с насильником, остались по праву знаменитыми среди киноманов. -
